Stephen Hawking has been added to the line-up of this year’s eagerly anticipated Glastonbury Festival. The festival that takes place June 24 to 28 will see acts like Kanye West, Foo Fighters and The Who headlining the event at its traditional setting of Worthy Farm, Somerset.

Now, the festival organisers have confirmed that the theoretical physicist will make a “special appearance” at the Kidz Field children’s area. His role as a guest has not yet been confirmed. Joining him will be celebrity magician Dynamo and CBeebies presenters, Alex Winters and Katy Ashworth.

Hawking covered Monty Python’s ‘Galaxy Song’ recently for Record Store Day. The song was originally sung by Eric Idle for the Monty Python film The Meaning of Life.  His version from the 1983 classic was released on limited edition seven-inch vinyl earlier this month. He had also previously appeared in 2014 onstage with the comedy troupe during their live reunion shows.
