A teenage boy has died after cycling into a parked lorry in, Lismore, Co Waterford.
Gardaí have issued an appeal after the young boy was cycling a bike when he hit the lorry along the N72 in Ballygane, Lismore, Co Waterford. The incident happened shortly after 11am yesterday morning.
The teenage boy was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was then taken to University Hospital Waterford, where a post mortem is to be take place. The driver of the lorry was uninjured in the accident.
The road has since been reopened, having closed earlier for a technical examination to be carried out.
Gardaí have issued an appeal for witnesses to the incident to contact them. They have also asked any road users in possession of dash-cam footage of the road between Lismore and Cappoquin, between 10.30am and 11.15 am to make it available.
