Three men have been charged in connection with a series of alleged burglaries, car thefts and related offences in Tallaght after Gardaí spotted a man attempting to flee from a stolen vehicle.
Gardaí from the Tallaght Community Engagement Unit and Serious Crime Unit have been investigating a number of incidents across the Dublin 24 area.
During an operation on Saturday, September 19, officers on active patrol in the Cloonmore Park area of Jobstown saw a man get out of a vehicle before attempting to run away on foot.
The man, aged in his 40s, was subsequently apprehended and arrested.
The vehicle was recovered and had previously been reported stolen following a burglary in the area.
Two further men, aged in their 20s and 40s, were also arrested as part of the operation.
All three men were detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Garda stations in the Dublin Metropolitan Region.
A Garda spokesperson said: "Three males have been arrested and charged following operations conducted on Saturday, 19th September 2026 by Gardaí from the Tallaght Community Engagement and the Serious Crime Unit as part of ongoing investigations into burglary, car theft and associated crimes in the Tallaght area.
*"While on active patrol in the Cloonmore Park area, Gardaí observed a man exiting a vehicle and subsequently attempting to flee on foot.
*"The male, aged in his 40s, was apprehended and arrested in connection with the investigations. He was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a Garda Station within the Dublin Metropolitan Region.
*"The vehicle recovered had been reported stolen following a recent burglary in the area. In the course of the operation Gardaí arrested two additional males, aged in their 20s and 40s.
*"Both were also detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at a Garda Station in the Dublin Metropolitan Region. All three men have been charged with a number of offences and are scheduled to appear before Tallaght District Court on Monday, 21st September 2026, at 10:30am.
"Investigations remain ongoing."
The three men are due to appear before Tallaght District Court this morning.
