Emergency services responded to the blaze at a property in Clanbrassil Close shortly after 2.20am on Tuesday.

Several occupants managed to escape through a rear bedroom window, while others, including children, were assisted from the building through the front entrance.

Three people received treatment at the scene before being taken to hospital. The two children who remain hospitalised are understood to be in a stable condition.

A spokesperson for An Garda Síochána said investigations are continuing to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Dublin Fire Brigade deployed five units and a senior officer to the scene. Fire crews remained in attendance until the operation concluded shortly before 6am.
