U2 released this standalone record back in February, which included six tracks, and dedicated to the four year anniversary of Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
It was described by a press release as “an immediate response to current events and inspired by the many extraordinary and courageous people fighting on the frontlines of freedom". U2 are expected to release the album in full at some stage this year. More on this from Nova here.
That month also saw a new documentary inspired by U2's 'Yours Eternally' arrive, directed by Ukrainian cinematographer and filmmaker, Ilya Mikhaylus, and produced by Pyotr Verzilov, and captures the incredible lives of soldiers from the Khartiya Corps as they fight on the frontlines of the war along the Kharkiv region. It is part of a full-scale documentary which will be released at the end of this year.
“For four years, Ukraine has been resisting Russia’s full-scale invasion, and the soldiers of the Khartiya Corps are among the hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians defending their homeland. In this short film, and in the upcoming full-length documentary, we attempt to show the beating human heart of those incredible men and women, the struggles and sacrifices they are making everyday for the most sacred thing on this planet - freedom”, Ilya Mikhaylys said.
