The TV world has been all chatter with rumours that Tom Hardy was 'fired' from MobLand and won't appear in season three, so what's going on?

If you've not watched MobLand, firstly, why? Secondly, you need to know that Tom's Harry Da Souza is the show's main character.

The final episode of S1 left Harry's fate on the show up in the air, but photos emerged of Tom filming for S2, and all was right in the world.

Tom, a renowned actor known for his roles in Venom, The Dark Knight Rises, and Peaky Blinders, is believed to have gotten the boot by fed-up producers.

Now, though, Deadline has confirmed that, behind-the-scenes drama behind him, Tom is staying on and will continue to star in MobLand.

It reports that in the weeks since, there had been an 'outreach that opened the door for him to potentially continue on the show', with Helen Mirren publicly sharing her support for her co-star.

A recent meeting in London occurred between showrunner Jeff Butterworth, series executive producer David Glasser, and Tom, and sources said it went well.

The trio came 'to a great understanding about a path forward'. Executive producer Guy Ritchie is also believed to have stepped up to the mark, helping mend fractured relations, which has resulted in the actor returning to the series full-time.

The first season had us in a chokehold and had some big star power behind it, with well-known faces in the cast, including Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, Tom, Joanne Froggatt, and Irish actress Lisa Dwan.

As production was carried out on S2, it was reported that a third season had been greenlit.

A source told The Sun of season three: 'Thankfully, the quality of the show and the ratings have convinced bosses that the drama is worth committing to.'

'It is top-level production and directed by Guy Ritchie and has been well received by critics and, generally, by the viewers. But initially all the talk was about the accents and Pierce in particular.'

Last year, Pierce was forced to defend himself after critics called his Irish accent 'terrible'.
