Tour de Picnic

International rugby player Rob Kearney officially launched the eleventh Tour de Picnic this week alongside Irish rising star, Soulé – novice cyclist and regular performer at Electric Picnic. Electric Picnic 2019 sold out in record time, so this is your last chance to get to see your favourite acts in Stradbally.

The Complete Natural is delighted to be back as title sponsors of this year’s Tour de Picnic.

Dairy is the perfect partner for training and sport and milk stops will help to keep the cyclists well hydrated on their way to the picnic.

Zoe Kavanagh CEO of the National Dairy Council said;

We are really excited to announce our title sponsorship of Tour de Picnic for the second year running. Dairy is such a great food to support exercise and training, the perfect post-performance recovery drink. Milk is rich in protein – an important nutrient for muscle growth and maintenance – and provides a natural carbohydrate source to help refuel energy stores. We are also delighted to be supporting the three great charities for this year’s Tour – LauraLynn Children’s Hospice, Ronald McDonald House and ISPCC Childline”

Although the 17km run has already sold out, there’s still plenty of time to train for the 80km cycle! The stunning cycle route will take you along a Greenway and a Blueway. To boost you up before you depart, The Complete Natural Tour de Picnic will begin with The Complete Natural Breakfast Party in Tallaght Stadium with a special Tour de Dairy Menu to keep you energised throughout the journey. After departing Tallaght Stadium, the cyclists will ascend towards the Blessington Greenway and will continue on meandering through some of Ireland’s biggest dairy farms and the picturesque village of Brannockstown. The last hurdle will embark along the prospective Barrow Blueway before reaching Stradbally. There will be some much-needed sustenance along the way in the form of dairy treats and milk fuelling stops!

Tour de Picnickers will enjoy beautiful scenery and surroundings while raising funds for a charity of their choice: LauraLynn Children’s Hospice, Ronald McDonald House and ISPCC Childline. The initial deposit is €60 which secures your ticket as well as your place in the 80km cycle, provided you reach the fundraising target (this deposit contributes towards your fundraising total). Each individual must raise a minimum of €395.

If you’re quite the philanthropist, why not take part in the VIP Challenge? There are still places on the sold-out 17km run for those completing the VIP Challenge or you can choose to do the 80km VIP cycle. The fundraising target for the VIP Challenge is €1000 which will be shared across the three worthy causes. For your efforts you will get exclusive guest area access, guest toilets & showers and space to pitch your tent in the guest camping area. There will also be special Bell Tent camping available for an additional €500.

This year we organisers areintroducing ‘The Complete Natural Tour de Picnic Corporate Challenge’! Get a team of your office buddies together, raise a minimum of €500 each through some fun fundraising activities and get your company to match the amount raised. This is a fantastic way to get the whole office involved in your Corporate Social Responsibility activity! Each team member that takes part in the run or cycle will get to camp in the exclusive guest camping area with access to Electric Picnic guest area, including guest toilets and showers.

Those who take part in Tour de Picnic will be well looked after with official Tour de Picnic jerseys, refreshments throughout the cycle or run, great food and beer on arrival, baggage transfer, return bus ticket, return bike transfer and a full support team along the route. At the finish line you’ll be brought into the incredible The Tour de Picnic Welcome Area in Stradbally. With DJs, The Irish Dairy Cocktail Bar, hot tubs, massages, endless refuel food and recovery chats from Irish Dairy ambassadors, it will have everything you’ll need to get ready for the incredible weekend you have ahead!
