The internet is a very frustrating place for musicians now. Unreleased music is constantly being leaked along with details of upcoming records. Which is exactly what’s just happened to Beck, who’s long-awaited and highly anticipated new album title and release date have been leaked online.

The record is said to be a follow-up and upbeat ‘sister album’ to the Grammy award-winning ‘Morning Phase’. It is also said to be ‘inspired by The Strokes’, which has us even more intrigued to hear it!

The album was last scheduled for release in Spring 2017 – which has obviously been and gone. So Beck fans have been eagerly awaiting any news on the album, and have been given some hope from Reddit users. ‘Indieheads’ is a Reddit page which copped on that online retailer Bull Moose actually had Beck’s upcoming release listed on a pre-order page, revealing the name of the record to be ‘Colours’ and the release date October 13th. Users noted that there was no tracklist or album artwork available but recent singles ‘Wow’ (watch below) and ‘Dreams’ are expected to be featured.

10 tracks will feature on the upcoming album, which Beck has described as “simple and uplifting and galvanising, where the spirit moves you, that kind of feeling. Those are the hardest. This new record I focused on that feeling. It’s the easiest to fail at. Or to come off on one hand disingenuous, or on the other hand just trite, or, you know, there’s that fine line between platitude and just the truth. And that fine line between making a big commotion and a bunch of movement and just actual unadulterated joy.”
