A museum in Birmingham is set to host a one-day event in honour of Ozzy Osbourne.

The event named 'Legacy of a Madman: A tribute to the Prince of Darkness' is in addition to the ongoing exhibition, 'Ozzy Osbourne: Working Class Hero' at the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery.

The event will take place on July 25th in the Industrial Gallery. It will include guided walks that take participants through some of the most significant moments of Osbournes life. After the guided walks, the museum will host two hours of live music.

Speaking on the event, the organisers said: "Legacy of a Madman is a free memorial and legacy event celebrating the lives, music and cultural impact of Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath."

"Created in partnership with Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery, the event brings together fans, musicians and the wider community to celebrate Birmingham's place as the birthplace of heavy metal and honour the artists who inspired generations around the world," they continued.

The throne used by Osbourne during his final live performance will be on display at the event.

The iconic chair featured during the Back to the Beginning concert at Villa Park last summer and at Osbournes Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction.

Jez Collins from Birmingham Museum told the BBC that "Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne are synonymous with Birmingham. They've done so much for the city, and there's so much love them in the city."

"It's iconic, it's up there with things like the Flying Pig from Pink Floyd, it's that level of iconic. I've literally got goosebumps looking at it," she continued.
