“I was terrible at practising”. Those were the words used by Eve Hewson when explaining why she did not follow her father Bono into music.

The actress who appeared in the film, This Must Be The Place, alongside Sean Penn and Frances McDormund, and also starred in the British-New Zealand drama The Luminaries told Town and Country magazine that she, “was terrible at practising”.

“It didn’t feel like work at all – practising music did”

Eve Hewson also explained why she ultimately chose the stage over the mic. “When I started acting, I realised I could spend all day long going over lines, reading scripts, doing different exercises, and it didn’t feel like work at all”. Adding, “Practising music did”.

She even joked that she was a little troublemaker in her youth. “There got to a point in my teens when my dad couldn’t hire good-looking support bands any more!”.

Eve also said that it got to a point where her dad said, “No more boys in their 20s, please God!”.

According to Hewson, her parents were hesitant about her entering the film world.

“There was the fear that I would go off to LA and become some celebrity kid running around on Rodeo Drive”.

She added, “I think any parent bringing up a kid in a certain lifestyle would have those fears”.

Hewson is one of four children that Bono has with his wife, Ali Hewson. 29 year old Eve said her family are “genuinely kind of madly in love”, despite complaining about each other constantly.

“Those girlfriend robots”

Eve Hewson also said her love life is less dramatic, calling it “hopeless” and a “disappointment”.

She even joked, “I’ve heard they’re creating these girlfriend robots and hopefully soon they’ll do boyfriend robots, so I think I’m just going to wait for those”.

She mentioned an advantage that robots would have over humans,“You could just unplug them when they bother you”.

It was also confirmed that Eve’s dad is to feature on rapper DMX’s upcoming album. This also includes a track called “Skycrapers”.

Bono is to also feature alongside Pharrell Williams in the animated film, Sing 2 later this year.
