Brian May has reacted to claims that the Queen guitarist and fellow bandmate Roger Taylor refused an offer to play at the Oscars.
Bohemian Rhapsody, the highly acclaimed Queen biopic, is up for five awards, including best actor as well as best film. Rami Malek has already received the best actor award at the Golden Globes this year.
According to the NME
, the Daily Express made claims that May and Taylor turned doen the opportunity to play at the ceremony. However, May took to Instagram to refute the claim.
“NOPE! We never turned down playing at the Oscars,” he wrote. “We’re just happy and proud that Bohemian Rhapsody has received 5 nominations, and we will be there in support !!!”
