Oscar winning actor Cillian Murphy has said that he is "just a fan boy" of Fontaines D.C.
Murphy professed his love for the band will speaking with their frontman Grian Chatten in a recent interview.
The pair appeared after Chatten had released the track, 'Puppet' for the upcoming movie, Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man, which sees Murphy reprise his role as Tommy Shelby. The film will hit cinema screens on March 6, before streaming on Netflix from March 20.
In this interview, Murphy has said that he is a "massive fan" of Fontaines D.C, saying: “There’s certain music that just lends itself to Peaky Blinders … the Fontaines music seems to work, it has that outlaw quality, that dangerous quality …. they’re incredible songs, so it just clicked for us".
Elsewhere, Grian Chatten said that Murphy had been to a "couple of shows", before Murphy quipped that he is "just a groupie".
Speaking about Chatten's role in the movie, Murphy added: “We’re just thrilled that somebody like Grian is now part of the Peaky sonic landscape, and we’ve had such a storied and amazing line-up of artists over the years contributing to the show, and this was a massive step up for us to make a film".
Chatten then joked that in order to prepare himself for working on this song, he “locked myself in a cupboard for six weeks, didn’t speak to anyone, and it was very difficult not to shave my head in the Peaky style".
He added: “It was just an overwhelming sense of pure Shelby-ism, really. It was very difficult to not shave my head in the Peaky style as well, so I was just resisting that the whole time".
“There’s a lot of tension and the characters in the Peaky Blinders canon are full of tension, and there’s two sides in all of this. No one is ever straightforward, so I was trying to choose that balance in the song".
