Dublin is now fully in festive mode, with markets across the city opening their gates for shopping, food, music and plenty of Christmas atmosphere. From long-standing city centre staples to new neighbourhood pop-ups, here’s a full round-up of what’s happening and where.
Twinkletown, running from 28 November until 4 January, has taken over Smithfield, bringing a cosy mix of stalls, festive lights and seasonal treats. It’s one of the longest-running markets this year, giving Dubliners plenty of time to visit.
In Inchicore, the Stillgarden Xmas Fair returns on Sunday 7 December, running from 11am to 5pm with local crafts, small businesses and artisan gifts.
The Swords Castle Christmas Market is open on weekends from 28 November until 7 December, offering a historic setting for festive browsing.
Over in The Liberties, The Fumbally Christmas Market runs from 5–7 December, always attracting crowds looking for handmade goods, sustainable gifts and food producers.
One of Dublin’s busiest annual fixtures, the Henry Street/Mary Street Christmas Market, is already in full swing. It runs from 24 November right through to Christmas Eve, filling Dublin 1 with its familiar mix of toys, decorations, winter accessories and last-minute gifts.
Wonderlights continues until 28 December, and both Malahide Castle and Gardens and Marlay Park have large Christmas markets attached to their Wonderlights experiences, making them popular day-and-night destinations for families.
At the RDS, Dublin Loves Christmas runs until 23 December, offering a huge indoor market with gifts, crafts and festive entertainment.
Nature lovers can head to Glasnevin, where The Botanic Gardens' Sustainable Christmas Craft Market takes place on 13 and 14 December from 10am to 4pm, focusing on locally made and environmentally conscious products.
Finally, The Boland Mills Christmas Market lights up Grand Canal Dock on 29 and 30 November, open from 11am to 7pm, bringing festive cheer to one of the city’s newest landmark sites.
