Oxford quintet Foals have released a teaser for their new video ‘Mountain At My Gates’. Foals recently revealed the new track on Annie Mac’s BBC Radio 1 show last week.

Foals have now released a teaser for their new video which is described as a ‘virtual reality music video’. The video is directed by Nabil and was shot with a Go Pro camera. The teaser shows a mixture of live performance and some airborne footage of a city surrounded by mountains.

‘Mountain At My Gates’ is the second single from their upcoming album What Went Down which will be released on August 28th. Nabil has worked with Foals previously on their videos for ‘Bad Habit’ and ‘Last Night’ off their last album Holy Fire.

Speaking to NME about the track, frontman Yannis Phillipakis said “I’d recorded the beginning riff on my phone ages ago. At the beginning it had a baggy feel, but became less so with more work. The central image – ‘I see a mountain at my gates’ was from me getting more interested in seeing what would come out lyrically where there wasn’t a pre-conceived idea.”

The band previously released a teaser for ‘What Went Down’ the first single off the new album last month. It was similarly short and vague only giving a brief snippet of what to expect. You can check out the teaser for ‘Mountain At My Gates’ down below.
