The ashes of the late Lemmy Kilmister are to be “enshrined” at Los Angeles’ Rainbow Bar & Grill.

The late Motorhead singer was a regular fixture at the famous pub and music venue, where the patio at the venue was even renamed ‘Lemmy’s Lounge’ in his memory.

To mark this occasion, a ceremony will take place at the Rainbow Bar on Friday, April 19, where a new Motorhead Whiskey will also be unveiled.

“a very unique toast” in honour of Lemmy

This news was confirmed by the Rainbow venue, via a series of social media posts.

“Please join us as we enshrine Lemmy’s ashes at the Rainbow Bar & Grill. We also invite you to raise a very unique toast to Lemmy and Motorhead with the unveiling of brand new Motorhead Whiskey”, one post read.

In March 2021, it was confirmed that Lemmy had also arranged for some of his ashes to be sent in bullet casings to some of his closest friends.

This was confirmed by TV personality Riki Rachmann, who wrote on social media, “Before his death Lemmy asked for his ashes to be put in some bullets and handed out to his closest friends”.

He added, Today I received a bullet and was literally brought to tears”.

The Rainbow have since added that some of the musician’s ashes will also have a place at the venue. Lemmy Kilmister passed away from cancer in 2015.

Last August, it was also revealed that more of Lemmy’s ashes were scattered in the mud of Germany’s Wacken Open Air Festival.
