Liam Gallagher has said that he is "on the wind up" following his recent comments about "Swede and Manic Street Sweepers".
This comes after Gallagher had criticised the bands on X, saying they were “s***”, and they “lack swagger and style” and “dress like estate agents”.
The bands had announced a co headline UK arena tour recently, which will see them hit the road later this year. Prior to this, the bands had performed a run of North American shows in 2022, and the UK in 2024. They also toured together in 1994.
Now, the Oasis singer has stated that he was simply "on the wind up", telling fans who are overly fixated on his tweets to “relax, go for a walk, bake a fucking cake, [or] go to the seaside”.

In a separate post, Gallagher also responded to a fan who defended Manic Street Preachers, writing: “I never said they weren’t SEXY”, and also quipped that he wanted the two bands – who he playfully renamed “Swede and manic street sweepers” to open for Oasis if they embark on more tour dates in 2027".
While insisting that he enjoys winding people up on social media, Gallagher went on to agree that his previous comments about the bands were “very funny”, and joking that he was “devastated” and jealous that Oasis don’t have “any best mates to do a joint tour with”.

“They can’t have many", he said, while suggesting that Oasis boasted more fans than the pair of them.
