Noel Gallagher has spoken out in response to a remark made by Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins who recently suggested starting a fan petition to reunite Oasis.
According to Billboard, Hawkins who was performing with The Foo’s at the U.K.’s Reading Festival adorned his drum kit with a photo of Noel and his once Oasis bandmate brother Liam Gallagher.
Taylor reportedly told the audience:
“One of these days, we’ll get Oasis back. One of these days,” continuing to encourage the crowd by saying, “Let’s sign a petition, everyone here.”
Adding to this, David Grohl, the frontman of The Foo Fighters called out from behind the drum kit, “How many people wanna see Oasis f—ing play a show?”
Noel Gallagher’s responded by telling the crowd during his High Flying Birds concert in San Diego on August 29th told the fans that there will be no chance of an Oasis reunion happening anytime soon:
“Any Oasis fans in the house?” adding “Is anyone gonna sign that petition Dave Grohl wants to get together to get us back together? I’d like to start a petition to get the Foo Fighters to split up.”
The next day, Liam Gallagher tweeted his response to a sarcastic idea for an Oasis-themed musical:
“Oasis the musical 5 lads from Manchester start a band and take on the world the little 1 who writes the songs turns into a massive cunt sacks everyone except his little brother as he ain’t got the arse splits up the band there’s a story line for ya THE END LG x,”
