He doesn’t strike you as the remix type but Noel Gallagher has expressed an interest in putting out a remix EP.

The former Oasis member says that he’ll release a few songs from his upcoming album as remixed tracks.

His new LP titled Chasing Yesterday, is due out on March 2nd. It’s the second LP from the singer and his band High Flying Birds.

It’s the first album that Gallagher has produced himself, he said producing the record was a “a major pain in the arse”.

In an interview with Q, Noel spoke about the upcoming project. “Andy Weatherall [DJ, Producer] has done one already, a guy who used to be in the Psychonauts called Pablo who goes under the name of Toy Drum, he’s done one,” Gallagher said.

“Beyond The Wizard’s Sleeve have done something and I’m speaking to Massive Attack. There are a few things going on. There might be a remix EP coming out sooner or later. It’s all up in the air at the moment.”

Listen to two of the remixes below of ‘Ballad Of The Mighty I’ and ‘In The Heat Of The Moment’.

Speaking to NME earlier this year, Johnny Marr detailed what Chasing Yesterday sounds like. “It’s really good. What I heard of it was very melodic, some of it pretty rocking too, and fans are going to really like it. He doesn’t do things he doesn’t think are great. And his singing is really good on the album.”

Noel Gallagher and The High Flying Birds will be playing at Dublin’s 3 Arena on Wednesday March 4th.
