Paul McCartney is set to make a surprise appearance on the hit YouTube series Chicken Shop Date alongside host Amelia Dimoldenberg as part of the promotional campaign for his upcoming album The Boys of Dungeon Lane.
The episode is expected to be released on May 29, the same day the new album launches.
Dimoldenberg teased the appearance earlier this week in a TikTok filmed outside the iconic Abbey Road Studios, sharing a clip of herself walking across the famous zebra crossing with the caption: “My next date…out friday.”
She later confirmed the collaboration on Instagram, joking: “Money can’t buy me love…but it can buy me vegan nuggets and chips ! my date with @paulmccartney is out FRIDAY.”

While the format of Chicken Shop Date traditionally sees celebrities eating fried chicken during awkwardly funny interviews, fans won’t see McCartney tucking into wings anytime soon.
The former Beatle has been vegetarian for more than 50 years and is widely regarded as one of the world’s most prominent advocates for plant-based eating. Previous vegetarian guests on the series have instead opted for vegan alternatives during filming.
McCartney’s appearance comes as he embraces a broad digital media tour to promote his latest record.
In another social media clip showing the pair laughing and acting goofy inside the restaurant, she added: “HELP! My biggest date yet.”

Alongside Chicken Shop Date, the music icon is also scheduled to take part in a TikTok Live session and has recently appeared on several podcasts and radio programmes discussing his career, influences and personal reflections.
Earlier this week, McCartney featured on BBC Radio 2’s Tracks of My Years, where he selected ten songs that shaped his life and career.

Discussing Mr Tambourine Man by Bob Dylan, McCartney admitted he still feels intimidated approaching the legendary songwriter despite decades in the music industry.
“I’m a fan, but y’know, I don’t know him well enough. George knew him very well because they were in the Traveling Wilburys together. I’m a little bit nervous to approach him.”
“Some people, it’s easy, you sort of think we can chat easily.”
He also spoke emotionally about Prince after selecting the singer’s hit Kiss as one of his favourite tracks.
“He was a special guy, it’s so sad these people y’know, suddenly he’s not here.”
“It always makes me wish that I’d known him better, and I could say, ‘Hey man, what’s going on?’ It’s such a shame, there’s such talents.”
Chicken Shop Date has become one of the internet’s most popular celebrity interview formats in recent years, with Dimoldenberg welcoming stars including Cher, Ryan Reynolds, Sabrina Carpenter, Cynthia Erivo, Conan O’Brien and Ben Stiller.
Episodes typically run for around eight minutes and feature the comedian interviewing guests in deliberately awkward and humorous fast-food restaurant settings.

McCartney’s appearance is already generating major buzz online, with fans eager to see how the famously witty music legend handles Dimoldenberg’s deadpan interview style.
