The long awaited Santana reunion came one step closer to happening on Wednesday night (August 28th).
Both band co-founders Carlos Santana and keyboardist Gregg Rolie joined former bandmate Neal Schon onstage during Journey‘s concert at Las Vegas’ Pearl Theater at the Palms Hotel and Casino.
Rolie, who along with Schon split Santana following the sessions 1972’s Caravanserai to form Journey, took the lead on the band’s two signature tunes, “Black Magic Woman” and “Evil Ways.”
In recent years, Carlos Santana told us he and Gregg Rolie were growing closer again and heading towards some type of reunion: “I’m really happy to say that Gregg Rolie and I are communicating more. And it feels great. I have no doubts that, Lord willing, in the future we’ll be doing something together, definitely.”
