The Stone Roses have been forced to cancel a number of dates due to an injury to one of the band members. It was recently revealed that drummer Reni has fractured his ribs.
The Stone Roses are still in the studio working on their new album ahead of their scheduled tour. The band were originally meant to kick things off with shows in Japan, but they have now had to cancel the shows.
A spokesman for promoters Creative Man said “The Stone Roses are very sorry to have to cancel their two proposed concerts at the Budokan.” They continued by saying “Reni has had an accidental fall and fractured two ribs, his doctor has told him to rest for at least a month. Unfortunately this means that the band are unable to fulfill their planned performances in Japan.”
The band have yet to comment about the cancellation and we’re not sure if any other dates will be affected by this. The Stone Roses have a number of big dates scheduled for this summer, with three nights at the Eithad Stadium in Manchester and a show at Marlay Park in Dublin still to come.
