Talking Heads have shared a new raw demo of their classic hit, 'Psycho Killer'.

This track was recorded during a recording session at CBS Studios, producing cuts of several other tracks from the band's first two albums. Such tracks include, ‘Don’t Worry About The Government’, ‘The Book I Read’, ‘Thank You For Sending Me An Angel’ and ‘Stay Hungry’.

This new demo is a raw 1975 of their 1977 hit, and is one of the earliest recordings by the original Talking Heads line up of David Byrne, Tina Weymouth and Chris Frantz, and it retains of the song's iconic bassline.

The recording was reportedly lost before being discovered in the Rhode Island School Of Design archives, and the LP: “traces the band’s progression from raw punk minimalism to a more structured, angular musical approach that reflects broader shifts in post-punk aesthetics of the late 1970s”.

The album will be released again on March 6 on vinyl and on a 3xCD. It can be pre ordered via this link here.

News of this comes as Talking Heads' frontman David Byrne added more dates to his UK and Ireland summer world tour, 'Who Is The Sky?'

Such shows include Dublin, Halifax, Edinburgh, and Cardiff, along with a previously announced show at Suffolk's Latitude Festival in July.

The tour will promote the album, 'Who Is The Sky?' which arrived in September, in collaboration with New York City's Ghost Train Orchestra. This marks Byrne's first solo album in six and half years, having released 'American Utopia' in 2018.
