Three Whitesnake albums are to be reissued on vinyl in their original US formats, it has been confirmed.

The albums in question, 'Whitesnake', 'Slide It In', and 'Slip Of The Tongue', will be reissued on September 18, with these new collections set to feature limited edition collector pressings, highlighting the band's popular tracks, including, 'Is This Love', 'Here I Go Again', 'Fool For Your Loving', and 'Still of the Night' among others.

This was confirmed by Craft Recordings, who are to celebrate Whitesnake's rise to world superstardom, becoming one of the most celebrated rock bands of that decade. They will revisit this famous period with these vinyl reissues, which will include the tracks that arguably set the standard for rock music of the 1980s.

Whitesnake were founded in 1978 by David Coverdale, who had already established himself as an international rockstar, as the frontman for Deep Purple.

News of this comes after David Coverdale had announced his retirement from music last year.

He confirmed this news via the band's official social media pages, where he shared an accompanying montage of the rocker's performances set to the 2025 remix of Forevermore.

In a video message, Coverdale said: "Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, brothers and sisters of the 'snake, a special announcement for you", Coverdale said. "After 50 years-plus of an incredible journey with you, with Deep Purple, with Whitesnake, Jimmy Page, the last few years has been very evident to me that it’s time really for me to hang up my rock ‘n’ roll platform shoes and my skintight jeans".

He continued: "And as you can see, we’ve taken care of the lion’s wig. But it’s time for me to call it a day. I love you dearly".

"I thank everyone who’s assisted and supported me on this incredible journey — all the musicians, the crew, the fans, the family. It’s amazing, but it really is time for me to just enjoy my retirement. And I hope you can appreciate that. Once again, I love you with all my heart. Fare thee well".
