U2 have recently confirmed that their new album Songs of Experience will be coming out next year. They previously announced that there would be another album after last year’s Songs of Innocence.

The album released last year and automatically downloaded onto people’s iTunes accounts as a gift from Apple. It didn’t go down well, a lot of people didn’t agree with the idea which forced Apple to release a tool to allow iTunes users to remove the album from their devices.

Speaking to The Irish Times last Friday, Bono spoke about their new album saying “We’re going to get Songs Of Experience out next year. Unusually for us, a lot of the songs are done already.”

U2 recently announced that they would be returning home on their current European tour. They said they will be playing in Belfast & Dublin in November, with two dates in Belfast (18,19) & four dates in Dublin (23, 24, 27 and 28).

The four Dublin shows will be the first time U2 have performed here since they headlined three consecutive nights at Croke Park back in 2009, which were all sold out shows.
