So, what do you want to know about Nick Cave? There’s plenty of things we can think of and now we have the opportunity to find out.

Conversations with Nick Cave is taking place in The Abbey Theatre on June 5th in Dublin and we’re literally writing notes so we don’t forget anything!

Cave is taking to the stage alongside The Bad Seeds and Patti Smith on June 6th for a sold-out show at the Royal Hospital Kilmainham, his first Irish headline gig since 2008.

But first he’s going to sit around and chat so we can get all the scoop in an evening of open discussion. Recently, Cave took part in some discussions with audiences in the US which were inspired by his 2017 world tour and they quickly became a staple part of his tour.

Cave stated: “To be honest I am not sure what is going to happen at these events. I have always loved the Q&A format – not the formal onstage interviews that precede them but the questions from the audience afterwards.

“The audience tends to ask more challenging, revealing, playful and ultimately serious questions. You never know what you are going to get. They can be fearless and they can go deep.”

The singer believes the connection between himself and the audience in his recent live shows have been down to the willingness to open up which took place through direct conversation.

Moreover, the gig on June 6th may have sold out in less than an hour when announced, but a limited number of Production Hold tickets will be released for sale this Friday, May 11th at 9am! Patti Smith is a special guest on the night and support will come from Limerick three piece whenyoung.

And if you thought that was the only Nick Cave news we were bringing you today – you’re wrong; there will also be a Nick Cave season of films at the Light House Cinema, Dublin and Pálás, Galway which highlights his contribution to modern cinema.

From June 1st to June 6th, the cinema will screen films featuring Nick Cave’s screenplays, scores with fellow Bad Seed Warren Ellis and the incredibly insightful documentary collaborations – ‘One More Time With Feeling’ and ’20,000 Days On Earth’ – plus feature films ‘Lawless’, ‘The Proposition’, ‘The Assassination of Jesse James By The Coward Robert Ford’, ‘Wind River’ and ‘Hell Or High Water’.
