Eddie Vedder had been accompanying his mother on her 75th birthday and her brothers to the Bruce Springsteen show, Springsteen on Broadway, Vedder sang and played guitar covering Bob Dylan’s ‘All Along the Watchtower’, the song that guitar hero Jimi Hendrix would make famous.

Meanwhile, Pearl Jam’s bassist Jeff Ament is set to release his new solo record Heaven/Hell  due out on May 10th. He has shared a new music video for the song ‘Safe in the Car.’

Speaking to Rolling Stone , Ament discussed how the album came about quickly, ‘I usually end up having a group of songs that goes to the band, and then there are songs that don’t feel right, or they feel too personal. Maybe I get too far down the road with them lyrically, and I’m either apprehensive to give them to Ed [Eddie Vedder], or it just feels better for it to be in my voice. You keep working on these songs, and all of a sudden you have maybe a little group of three or four.’
