Last weekend, Guns N'Roses covered a rare Sex Pistols song live for the first time.

The band delivered a live cover of the track, 'Black Leather', an outtake from the Pistols' 1979, The Great Rock 'n' Roll Swindle soundtrack.

The track was first recorded following John Lydon's departure from the Pistols, and first came to the attention of the public when it was covered by the Runaways album, And Now....The Runaways in 1978. The Pistols' version was later release on a Japanese compilation.

In 1993, Guns N'Roses covered the song on their album, 'The Spaghetti Incident?' in 1993, with Axl Rose on vocals.

Now, the band have covered it live for the first time, having performed it during their show on Fortaleza, Brazil last Saturday night (April 18).

Tonight, Guns N'Roses will play their penultimate show from their current South American tour in Sao Luis, Brazil, before finishing off this leg of their tour in Balem Do Para.

Following two shows in Hollywood, Florida over the next few weeks, Axl Rose and co will head over to Europe for 11 shows, before coming to North American to finish off the summer. That part of the tour will finish in Atlanta on September 19.

Guns N'Roses' shows will be opened by The Black Crowes, Mammoth, Public Enemy, and Ice Cube. Find out information regarding tickets for these shows and dates via this link here.

Last month, GNR kicked off this tour in Monterrey, Mexico, where they treated fans to live performances of their tracks, 'Nothin' and 'Atlas' live for the first time.

That show also saw the band play ‘Welcome To The Jungle’ and ‘Mr Brownstone’, before treating fans to ‘Paradise City’, ‘Don’t Cry’, ‘Civil War’, ‘November Rain’ and their version of ‘Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door’ later on in the set.

They also covered Black Sabbath’s ‘Sabbath Bloody Sabbath’, Wings’ ‘Live And Let Die’, Velvet Revolver’s ‘Slither’, The Damned’s ‘New Rose’ and UK Subs’ ‘Down On The Farm’.

Prior to these shows, Guns N'Roses confirmed that they would be performing without bandmember, Melissa Reece.

"Rock legends Guns N’ Roses have announced that Melissa Reese will not be joining the band on tour due to unforeseen personal reasons," they said. "We hope our fans understand".
