Former 007 star Daniel Craig has said that he is "working harder" than he ever has and "enjoying it more".
Craig starred as the suave agent James Bond in five movies, including Casino Royale (2006), Quantum Of Solace (2008), Skyfall (2012), Spectre (2015), and No Time to Die (2021).
Since his final appearance in 2021, Craig has starred in a number of roles including private detective Benoit Blanc in the Knives Out whodunit series. Other roles include outcast American expat, William Lee in the 2024 romance, Queer, directed by Luca Guadagnino.
Speaking to Radio Times, Daniel Craig has said that he now feels able to take on roles that he may have been previously unsure about in the past.
"I’m not saying no to things that I might have been a little bit wary about before", Craig said. "When the Bond thing was going on in my life, the juxtaposition between that and another role would sometimes feel self-conscious".
"I’m working harder than I ever have, but I’m also just enjoying it more than I ever have".
"I get to do really interesting, different stuff".
Craig's latest project sees the British actor star in the latest instalment from Rian Johnson's whodunit trilogy, Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, alongside Glen Close, Josh O'Connor and Mila Kunis. It follows on from 2019’s Knives Out and its sequel, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery.
On the franchise, Craig said: "Of course I would love to continue working with him (Johnson). As long as Rian keeps inventing it the way he does, then I’m in".
Speaking of Bond, actor Callum Turner emerged as the favourite to succeed Daniel Craig. More on this here.
