Elton John’s Farewell Tour Breaks All Kinds Of Earning Records

The conclusion of his Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour, saw Elton John break all kinds of earning records.

It has been reported that the music icon’s tour surpassed $900 million over three years, which saw him play across five continents, according to Billboard.

Overall, Elton John’s touring saw the singer 43.5 million tickets across 4,181 shows since he began in 1970.

The music icon’s lifetime revenue stands at $3.18 million, with his Farewell Yellow Brick Road touring earning just under $1 billion.

These figures make Elton John, on record the most successful live act of all time.

“wildest dreams”

Elton John performed his final ever live show from this Farewell Tour at Stockholm’s Tele2 Arena, bringing the curtain down on a hugely successful career.

Last July, the musician admitted that it was difficult to accept that this particular chapter in his life had come to an end. 

Taking to Instagram, Elton shared the following message.

“When we set off on my final tour in 2018, I couldn’t have foreseen in my wildest dreams the twists and turns and the highs and lows this tour – and the whole world – would have experienced in the next 5 years”, the music icon wrote.

“And every step of the way, my fans have been there. You have stuck with me, you have supported me, you have been patient and you have kept turning out for every single last show”, he added.

“Saturday night was magical. I’m trying to process it and I don’t think it will sink in for a while yet that I’m finally finished touring”.

“I can’t tell you how much I’m going to miss you all and how much your support has humbled me – it will stay with me forever”. 

Last November, director Rob Reiner confirmed that Elton John would also appear in the long awaited classic ‘This Is Spinal Tap’ alongside Garth Brooks, Paul McCartney. More here.
