Simple Minds Announce Dublin & Belfast Dates: Win Tickets All This Week On Nova!

Simple Minds have announced dates for the UK and Ireland leg of their World Tour, taking place next March.

This leg will see the band take to the stage at Dublin’s 3Arena on 18 March, ahead of a performance at Belfast’s SSE Arena the following day.

These dates were announced following the success of the band’s 40 Years Of Hits Tour, as well as their recent announcement of a tour of New Zealand and Australia, also taking place next year.

Simple Minds will also perform in Leeds, Birmingham, Bournemouth, Cardiff, and Glasgow as part of this UK and Ireland leg of the tour.

“the lifeblood of Simple Minds”

Speaking about the upcoming tour, Simple Minds’ frontman Jim Kerr said, “Concerts are the lifeblood of Simple Minds, it’s where we and our audience come alive and energised through music”.

“Four decades on from when we first set out, this global tour will demonstrate that Simple Minds are still alive and kicking!”.

The band have sold 60 million albums worldwide, with their latest album arriving last year.

Having formed in the 1970s, they got their name from the lyric “simple minded” from David Bowie’s 1972 hit ‘The Jean Genie’.

Tickets for their new tour also go on sale on Thursday (September 7) at 9am from usual outlets, including Ticketmaster.
