Sinéad O’Connor Has Retired From The Music Industry Again

Sinéad O’Connor has once again announced her retirement from the music industry, saying “we had a great adventure”.

O’Connor previously announced her retirement on June 4, before retracting it, calling it a “knee jerk reaction”

“Good news. F**k retiring”, she wrote. “I retract. Am not retiring. I was temporarily allowing pigs in lipstick to f*** my head up… here’s my statement….. in the form of these three photos. It’s ‘colourful’ but that’s me”.

But now, O’Connor appears to be finished performing music for good.

Having admitted that she had been in “two minds” about it beforehand. She has now confirmed she is leaving her singing career to focus on becoming a writer.

“This is to announce that having been in two minds about retiring I have now, in consultation with my medical team, and on their advice, decided to go ahead and retire so that I may now focus on my new career as a writer”, the “Nothing Compares 2 U” singer wrote.

Sinéad O’Connor also went onto explain how she fought against “the intellectually Lilliputian far right”. She also added that owed her life to “foreign residents in this country (Ireland)”.

O’Connor also blasted far-right activists such as Gemma O’Doherty.

“Their online activities are demeaning and damaging to the people of Ireland”, she wrote.

Sinéad O’Connor also confirmed her new album “No Veteran Dies Alone” will be her last. She also released her memoir “Rememberings” recently.  

“My last album, No Veteran Dies Alone will be released in April 2022. There will be no promo. Thanks for all the fun and love”, she added.

O’Connor “Enjoy being a private citizen”

Sinéad O’Connor also confirmed plans to quit social media to “enjoy being a private citizen”.

“I will be closing my Twitter page in the next few days to enjoy being a private citizen”, she wrote.

“And enjoy my new life as a writer. I sincerely thank my fans for the love they’ve shown me down the years, as well as my co-workers. We’ve had a great adventure, now it’s time for the next one”.
