Karen O the lead singer of New York trio Yeah Yeah Yeahs has recently given an update on the band. They are currently on hiatus after they released Mosquito in 2013.
In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Karen O spoke about the current state of the band. She said “It’s just waiting to see how everything works out with starting a family and seizing the moment when it strikes.”
The main reason she is out of action is because she recently became a mother saying “I’m in the full-time job of [motherhood] at the moment, I’m in babyland.”
Karen O also said “It’s all quite fresh and I’m technically on maternity leave right now, so everything is really up in the air. I’m going to see how it all pans out over the next few months with how to move forward with project.”
She has recently been working on material for a new video game Rise of the Tomb Raider which comes out on November 10th. Speaking about her work on the game she said “It all sounded really tasty. They wanted drama and high-stakes and melodrama. That was very appealing to me because I love making music connected to a storyline.
