Brilliant News For Beatles Fans!

The Beatles will celebrate the 50th anniversary of their groundbreaking album Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band with several reissue packages arriving May 26th. A new stereo mix of the album will be available as a single CD and as part of every other package. An expanded deluxe edition will be released digitally, as a two-CD set or two-LP vinyl package. A super deluxe six-disc box set will also be available. All three deluxe editions of Sgt. Pepper will include some really cool extras, such as previously unreleased complete takes of all 13 album tracks; new stereo mixes: a previously unreleased instrumental take of "Penny Lane" AND two unreleased takes of "Strawberry Fields Forever."

Paul McCartney is making a grand return to music. He is set to release his first album in four years, but no date or album title has been announced. Yet. He has been busy in the studio the last couple of months working with some of the top producers at the moment. He spoke to BBC6’s Matt Everitt about the new album and told him he has been working with Greg Kurstin.

Yoko Ono and John Lennon met in London in the late sixties, and were married on this day in 1969, in Gibraltar. Their romance coincided with the disintegration of the Beatles and Lennon detailed this period in The Beatles in the track ‘The Ballad of John and Yoko’, recorded by Lennon and McCartney on April 14, 1969. Paul McCartney is famously blamed the Beatles break-up on Ono, while other members attributed it to an inability to co-operate. Newly-weds Ono and Lennon spent their honeymoon in Amsterdam campaigning for an international "Bed-In" for peace.
